Collecting Pledges:

While it is not required, walkers are encouraged to pre-register and collect pledges for their walk, both to raise money for spay and neuter surgeries and to increase public awareness and promote spaying and neutering to end pet overpopulation.  Print your pledge sheet, complete your registration form and pre-register at 875 Vista Ave., and start collecting pledges.  Prizes will be awarded to the top pledge collecting individual and dog pack.  Pledge forms and money is due the day of the Walk or it can be turned in prior to the Walk at the Independence Animal Shelter.

The walk is approximately one mile long.  Walkers can walk with or without a dog and there must be one adult handler per dog.  We love cats, but we advise owners not to bring them to the event, as there will be many dogs and lots of noise.  Cat owners are encouraged to walk and dedicate their walk in the name of their cat.

Walkers can walk alone or they can invite family, friends, neighbors an co-workers and form a Dog Pack.  Check out the Dog Pack Page for additional information.
